Custom engine

Below, I will introduce you to SearchJumper's custom rule functions, including quick addition, settings page addition and import of rules shared by others, and show you how to use these functions to optimize your search experience.

1. Quick add

SearchJumper provides the function of quickly adding engines, allowing you to quickly add search engines. When you wish to add a new search engine, just hold down Ctrl + Alt and click on the search box to quickly add a search engine.

2. Add settings page

SearchJumper also provides the function of adding settings page, allowing you to add customized search settings according to your personal preferences and needs. In SearchJumper's settings page, you can freely add and manage various search engines, websites, and tools. You can make your most used search engine your default search engine, or add site-specific search capabilities. For example, you can add search capabilities for Wikipedia, YouTube, or other popular sites into SearchJumper to search directly from the settings page. This allows you to personalize SearchJumper and search according to your preferences and needs.

Extract search keywords

This item determines how to obtain the keyword being searched from the current page. Generally, it can be left blank. It can also be extracted from the URL through regular expressions or from page elements through the css selector.

Filter search keywords or url

This item determines what text is selected or what link is pointed to before the engine will be displayed. It can be used to filter special objects, such as links to designated network disks/pure numbers/text starting with a certain character, etc.

URL RegExp of site for matching engine

This item determines whether the currently browsed page corresponds to this engine.

Manually add engine

If you can't use Quick add, you can add the engine manually. Just observe the address bar and replace the query keyword in the URL with %s to get the engine address. For other situations (such as post/non-UTF8 encoding), please refer to the description table on the settings page.

SearchJumper supports searching using multiple engines you define at the same time. The configuration is as follows:

  1. Click the √ button in the Search Engine tab of the settings page
  2. Select the engines you want to add to the batch search
  3. Check "Clone" in the upper right corner
  4. Click "Move to" and select the target group
  5. Select "Clone into a collection" and fill in a collection name

4. Import other's share
